This painting holds a special place in my heart as years ago I painted the same man, my first ever acrylic portrait painting and I made it on a foam core board because I didn't have the money for canvas. This new painting "Looking Forward" represents where I am today, and where I am going with my art career, the last painting opened many doors for me and really started my journey. This man is from the Eastern Highlands Province in Papua New Guinea and he used to mend shoes at the local market when I lived there. I decided that I would ask if I could paint him and shortly thereafter realised he was deaf and couldn't speak so I used my hands and phone to explain to him what my plans were. He was overjoyed! I sent a print of the original back to him and was informed he had tears of joy flowing! Now I've re created that painting to honour that first joy. I want people to feel emotion through my work and decided to do a more stylistic approach with this painting. I am looking for a buyer who really connects with this portrait, someone who loves my work and wants to help forward my art career! I understand this piece may not be for everyone but there is someone out there that fits this painting perfectly and I can't wait to meet that person!
(note: canvas will come rolled for postage and will need to be re stretched upon arrival at a framer store it will also have a certificate of authenticity as well as being signed on the front and back)
